Catching Up

The past few days have been a whirlwind of sewing, wrapping, shipping and more sewing. I have slowly but surely been catching up on my orders that were placed while I was in New York. Thank you everyone who waited a whole month to receive there bag. While in New York I drew up many new designs and ideas so I am hoping I will have time next week to get a few of them done and put them on my shop! So new totes, purses and backpacks should be added to my shop all thru April. Also I am making my Spring Sale end April 6th. So pass the word along to friends that select Barnacle Bags are 20% off. Well my busy week is almost done and ready for a fun Friday night of dancing to this band at our local bar. It is quite amazing how such a small island gets so many amazing bands to come!

Home and Happy!

A few last shots of New York. Spring has arrived here on Lopez as well. The evenings are such a magaicl time right now. I am so enjoying the longer evenings and having dinner later in the evening. I arrived home a few days ago and have had a wonderful time re immersing myself into the country life. The beautiful starry night sky, the spring frogs, the acres and acres of trees that surround me, well the list could go on and on but there are things of New York that I miss already. It is a special place but I am quite happy to be back on the quite island of Lopez! I am totally swamped with orders so I am going to be a little absent from this space for the next week. I feel like I have so many things to share being that my head is filled with inspiration from New York and with all the pretty sights back on the island but they will have to wait. AM in the Flower District

People buzz around picking out there fresh flowers for the day. Perfectly wrapped bundles of color sprout out through out the shops. Fresh flowers picked from who knows where, arrived first thing in the morning. Shops and peoples home will now glow with color. A beautiful sight to see such a diverse choice of flowers and tree cuttings.

Chocolate

There is a chocolate factory down the street known as Mast Brothers Chocolate. You walk in and instantly smell the rich scent of chocolate. There whole productions is done here in Brooklyn and it is quite amazing to see the whole factory while buying your bar of delicious dark chocolate. There are so many artisans in this area and it has been pretty cool to see what young people are up to in this area!
